The measurements that matter, set up in the right order. Set your workstation up in this order: chair first, then desk and keyboard, then the screen. Each step depends on the one before it.
Free Desk Setup Guide →Common questions
Do I need an expensive chair?
No. A chair you can adjust (seat height, seat depth, lumbar support) matters far more than the price tag. A cushion and a footrest fix a lot of budget chairs.
Is a standing desk worth it?
It helps if you actually switch between sitting and standing through the day. Standing all day isn't better than sitting all day. Movement is what counts.
How do I fit an office into a small apartment?
Use a corner, an alcove or a closet, a narrow desk at least 24 in (60 cm) deep, and storage that goes up the wall. The checklist's "End of the day" items help you close the office when you're done.
Are the guides really free?
Yes. The checklist and the desk setup guide are free to read and print, with no signup needed.
